Although Claude Monet was known to be a reserved and moody man he was also known to be quite the entertainer. Many of the leading figures of the day were his close friends, and he entertained them ritualistically at Giverny. They would gather for long conversations and dine promptly at 11:30am so that he could make the most of the afternoon light.
Tonight we will cook and dine on some of Monet's favorite recipes, and those featured in the 2006 book Monet's Table.
Baked Field Mushrooms (Gratin de Champignons)
Fish Stew (Bouillabaisse de Morue)
Chicken in Red Wine Sauce (Coq au Vin)
Potato Pie (Pate de Pommes de Terre)
Glazed Carrots (Carrotes Fermieres)
Upside Down Apple Tart (Tarte Tatin)
Pricing is per person. Full Bar is available at standard rates.
